For Small and mid-size freight brokerages and non-asset 3PLs with in-house reps or agents
Catch thin and negative margin loads before they go out the door
A rep covers a hot load at whatever the carrier asks to keep the customer happy. The rate con gets revised up after booking, or the shipper rate was quoted too low. You see the negative loads in the month end report, long after the habit formed.
What it can cost you
Example: 25 loads a month booked $150 under your margin floor = $3,750 a month, or $45,000 a year.An illustration, not a promise. Your Opportunity Scan puts a real number on it.
What the system checks overnight
- Calculates margin on every booked load before dispatch and flags any under your floor.
- Flags rate confirmations revised upward after booking.
- Compares the customer rate to your history on that lane and customer.
- Breaks thin and negative loads down by rep, customer, and mode.
- Separates loads you chose to run thin for a customer from loads that drifted there.
Where it reads from
- McLeod PowerBroker, Tai TMS, AscendTMS, Aljex, or Turvo
What happens when it fires
You or the ops manager talk with the reps involved and decide on a margin floor rule. The system lists the loads with their history and drafts the note to each rep.
Autonomy level: Suggest only. The brief tells you what changed and what to do. Nothing happens without you.
What we guarantee
Margin calculated on every booked load before dispatch, with every load under your floor in the next morning's brief. We agree on the metric before the Sprint starts and measure it over the first 20 business days after go-live. If we miss it, you get half your Sprint fee back. Dollar savings are tracked in your monthly saves log, reported rather than promised.
Questions
Sometimes we lose money on a load on purpose. Will that get flagged?
You can mark a load or customer as a planned exception. The brief shows those separately so you can see whether exceptions are turning into the norm.
Does it work for agent offices?
Yes. It can split margin by agent office, so you see house loads and agent loads side by side.
Do I need new software for this?
No. The system reads from the tools you already use, with read-only access by default. A guardrail layer controls exactly which data the AI can see.
What does it cost?
A 3-week Sprint is $6,000 fixed and includes the morning brief plus one automation tied to an agreed metric. Ongoing support is $1,500 a month, or $500 a month to keep it running without new automations. If the agreed metric is missed over the first 20 business days after go-live, half the Sprint fee is refunded.
How is this different from a dashboard app or a free AI kit?
A dashboard app shows numbers when you go look. A free AI kit gives you the parts, and you do the setup, the upkeep, and the checking. Here the alarms are built for your kind of business, they watch outside data like market rates and rule changes alongside yours, and on Run or Keep-Running, the person who built them keeps them working and logs what they caught.

Seven more things worth watching.
- Accessorials paid but not billedMatch every accessorial paid to a carrier against what was billed to the shipper, so detention, lumper, layover, and TONU stop eating your margin.
- Buy rates drifting above marketCompare carrier cost per mile on your lanes to your own history and market rate data, and flag contract lanes the market has moved against.
- Reps moving volume at thin marginCompare margin per load, quote to book rate, and commission per rep, so you coach the reps who move lots of loads but leave little for the house.
- Shipper pay slipping while carriers quick payTrack days to collect by shipper against days to pay carriers, so your cash gap does not quietly grow while the load count looks healthy.
- Carrier authority or insurance problemsCheck every carrier before each load for lapsed insurance, authority changes, and contact details that do not match, to cut double brokering risk.
- Shipper volume quietly fallingCompare weekly loads, quotes, and tenders per shipper to their norm, so you call the account when volume starts sliding, not after it is gone.
- Delivered loads not invoicedTrack every delivered load from POD to invoice to accepted, so missing paperwork and rejected portal invoices do not delay your cash.
